Band heaters

Essential products in the field of plastics industry, Acim Jouanin band heaters are elements of various diameters and heights, intended for heating and maintaining the temperature of cylindrical parts (pipes, nozzles, sleeves, etc.)

They are connected by wires, terminals or pins inserted or not in a connection box. A tightening system adapted to temperature constraints keeps the band heater in contact with the support to be heated, regardless of the expansion of this one.

The heat transfers between the band heater and the part to heat are carried out mainly by conduction or by radiation for the most powerful models.

Cartridge Heaters and Formable coil heaters

Cartridge heaters , also called heating rods, are cylindrical electrical heaters that must be inserted into solid metal masses, allowing them to be heated very quickly by conduction.

Formable coil heaters are mineral insulation armored elements with low section , malleable and that can be shaped by you directly on your machine.

These products are used to heat solids directly or liquids and gases indirectly.

Tubular heaters

Also called shielded elements, these electrical resistances intended for heating liquids, gases or solids, are all designed from a resistive wire (nickel-chromium), centered in a cylindrical metal sheath (shielding) filled with a compacted electrical insulator (magnesia) and powered by terminals or cables at each end.

Depending on the application, the environment and the power installed, the shielded elements can be used bare , fitted with fins for heating air or molded for heating solids.

OUR ECO-RESPONSIBLE COMMITMENTS

Acim Jouanin is taking concrete steps to reduce its environmental impact.

Solar Energy : 257 photovoltaic panels (114 kWc) supply clean, renewable energy to our production site.

#Rubber #Saltbath #Sustainability #Innovation #Vulcanization #Engineering

ABOUT US :

MDC ENGINEERING designs and markets production lines for the continuous vulcanization of extruded elastomer profiles.

The innovation of the VulcanoClean® vulcanizing line (LCM: Liquid Curing Media) lies in its EcoClean process, an ecological revolution in the field that recycles salts and treats fumes and washing water in a closed circuit, for lines designed for the continuous extrusion of rubber profiles (EPDM, NR, CR, SBR, etc.).

More about the VulcanoClean system:

In addition to supplying VulcanoClean® LCM lines, MDC ENGINEERING can also adapt the VulcanoClean® process to existing LCM salt bath lines. MDC ENGINEERING also guarantees optimized installation of its lines on customer sites.

Salt bath technology is recognized worldwide as the best process for continuous vulcanization of elastomer profiles, not only for its heat transfer capacity, temperature homogeneity and ease of use, but also for the quality of the resulting surface finish and mechanical properties, and for its ability to vulcanize all polymer blends.

Since MDC Engineering S.a.r.l., in cooperation with Durferrit® GmbH, revolutionized salt bath lines to make them extremely modern, high-performance and safe, many new applications have emerged. What’s more, thanks to new peroxide compounds that can generally only be vulcanized in a salt bath, productivity levels unimaginable 20 years ago are now being achieved.

Thanks to the VulcanoClean® process, both the environmental and energy aspects, which twenty years ago were a weak point compared with competing technologies such as hot air + microwaves or hot air shock systems, are no longer an issue. Allowing the elimination of pollutant emissions and mixed electric/gas heating by means of immersed heat exchangers, this process offers the best energy efficiency and environmental technology.

In addition, MDC Engineering offers a range of services:

  • Consulting: we help you design and cost your projects
  • Technical assistance: we define all the specifications for each component of a production line in its entirety, then select and choose the appropriate suppliers with you.
  • Control and supervision: MDC Engineering offers a production control and monitoring system, which enables all parameters to be read and recorded, and monitored qualitatively over time. It can also be used to create global production recipes and statistical reports.
  • After-sales service / remote maintenance: enables our customers to receive technical assistance, regardless of distance, time or place, to diagnose any breakdown or anomaly, and to make remote program updates according to the customer’s choice, after start-up.

EcoClean

MDC Engineering offers a unique solution to the ever-increasing demands for ecological and industrial performance: the EcoClean, designed to efficiently wash, cool and recycle extruded profiles.

Efficient washing and cooling:

  • Intensive cleaning by spray or immersion,
  • Optimum cooling,
  • And above all, 100% recovery of entrained salt thanks to reverse waterfall technology.

During the vulcanization process, the highly salted wash water is not wasted, but concentrated, re-injected into the SWV salt furnace and purified by evaporation.

The benefits of EcoClean :

  • Up to 95% salt savings,
  • Water consumption reduced by 20 to 40 times,
  • A zero discharge process for clean production.

Treatment of vulcanising fumes – WWTC 3

MDC Engineering is responding to today’s environmental challenges with a high-performance fume treatment module.

The waste air treatment module collects :

  • Continuous fumes mixed with salt vapours throughout the line, with a downward return to avoid any risk of ignition
  • Continuous discharge of salt vapors from the EcoClean
  • Periodically, salt water from wet scrubbers and from parts and filter washing for evaporative treatment of any remaining waste wate

The benefits of MDC Engineering

  • Self-cleaning cyclone, requiring only a few minutes of manual washing per week
  • Easy integration into existing lines
  • Environmental enhancement through reuse of wash water

Dumping and resiliant products

All moving systems (machines, vehicles…) generates vibrations of varying intensity. These vibrations or shocks are serious problems and may lead to disastrous outcomes if unchecked: noise pollution, excessive fatigue and degradation of materials, increased maintenance costs, defective equipment or discomfort.
GEFICCA, through its expertise, uses filters and systems to achieve quality damping. Our research laboratory and our teams are able to calculate and formulate elastomer solutions that will decrease these nuisances.

Sealing products

To ensure the performance of their products, manufacturers and automakers must use efficient sealing systems, developed to withstand the most extreme conditions such as fluids (water, air, steam, gas, oils), solid elements (dust, sand) or low and high temperatures.
As expert in waterproofing solutions, GEFICCA develops materials and products that ensure the dynamic or static sealing of your systems while respecting environmental standards. They guarantee optimum safety and performance over time.

Sustainable materials

A rubber part is manufactured from a formulated mixture containing several raw materials. Although it may look basic, it is in fact a complex formula that has been carefully thought through to obtain the targeted properties in terms of mechanical performance, environmental resistance and functionality, and which now also incorporates objectives linked to environmental issues.

We formulate to obtain a three-dimensional network that gives rubber its unequalled characteristics: elasticity, vibration filtration, mechanical properties, damping, waterproofing, thermal insulation and extreme resistance.

GEFICCA is studying more eco-responsible raw materials: recycled, biosourced, reclaimed or with a better carbon footprint, to offer finished products that have less impact on the environment, while maintaining the same performance.  GEFICCA actively participates in various groups bringing together industry players working on Sustainable Development, Recycling, the Circular Economy and responsible sourcing. Solutions are then deployed within our plant to limit waste, such as regenerating rubber for re-use in our formulations, or granulating waste for re-use in another finished product.
