Elixance, a compound producer in Brittany (France), designs and sells thermoplastic materials tailored to sectors such as packaging, sports & leisure, cosmetics, and more. These materials meet various manufacturing requirements (extrusion, injection, 3D printing, etc.) and are offered in four ranges: biodegradable, eco-friendly materials, functional masterbatches, and high-performance products.
Our mission is to propose custom, innovative and sustainable solutions that meet our customer’s requirement while promoting environmental stewardship.
The following 4 brands represent the range of materials developed and commercialized by Elixance :
- TERVIA: Biodegradable thermoplastic materials including natural fillers or fibers.
- SPHERA: With its recycled polymers or post-industrial by-products, SPHERA brand materials provide a sustainable identity and limit the environmental impact of the finished product.
- AFFIXO: Concentrates of additives designed to enhance specific properties or functionalities in thermoplastics. They can improve various aspects such as : flame retardant, antibacterial, UV stability, slip agent…
- PERFORMA: High performance materials in terms of mechanical properties, thermal resistance, dimensional stability…
Our solutions for the recycling of black packaging : Black NIR masterbatches
A majority of black packaging is not detectable on the optical sorting lines, and therefore cannot be recycled. To address this issue and maximize the recyclability of this kind of packaging, Elixance supplies black masterbatches, for PET, PS and PO matrix, which allow detectability of dark packaging by infrared systems.
SPHERA brand : Eco-friendly Materials for a Sustainable Industry
We offer a range of solutions based on recycled polymers, incorporating post-industrial by-products such as fishing nets, cellulose, and mineral fillers. A sustainable approach inspired by circular economy and CSRin order to minimize environmental impact.
TERVIA brand : our solutions with biodegradable materials for injection, extrusion and 3D printing
For some outdoor applications and to limit the environmental impact, it is essential to increase the biodegradation of the material. To meet this requirement, Elixance developed biodegradable compounds which can be injected, extruded or 3D printed.
Our CSR Commitments
As part of the ecological transition, we have joined the Coq Vert community and adopted the Responsible Care initiative for a safer and more responsible approach. Through our carbon footprint assessment, We have implemented a decarbonization strategysuch as the optimization of our processes to reduce our environmental impact.
NEW INNOVATION
Nautilium : alliance for the production of a bio-inspired material, within an eco-responsible and virtuous industrial approach.
After several years of R&D, five manufacturers from the Grand-Ouest region (Polymaris Biotechnology, Elixance, Europlastiques, Séché Environnement and Olga) have created Nautilium, a bio-inspired, eco-responsible material. Produced locally in Brittany from marine bacteria by fermentation, it is entirely bio-assimilable, both on land and in the sea.
