ABOUT US :

Now a proud member of Bemis Associates, Protechnic is a French industrial company based in Cernay, specializing in the development, manufacturing, and marketing of thermoplastic hotmelt adhesives and decorative films. With over 50 years of experience and a strong reputation for innovation and quality, Protechnic serves diverse industries worldwide. Its focus on in-house R&D and sustainable development makes it a trusted partner for manufacturers seeking high-performance and eco-friendly bonding and decorative solutions.

Thermoplastic Hotmelt Adhesives
Protechnic’s solvent-free hotmelt adhesives bond various materials through heat and pressure, widely used in multilayer assemblies. The products include:

  • Web adhesives: Lightweight and breathable fibrous adhesives.
  • Net adhesives: Mesh-like adhesives offering strong bonding with airflow.
  • Film adhesives: Multilayer films for precise and durable bonding.

These adhesives are customizable, fast-acting, and resistant to temperature and humidity, making them ideal for automotive, textiles, footwear, medical, filtration, furniture, and bedding applications.

Decorative and Protective Films
Protechnic also produces decorative films that combine aesthetics with durability. Available in finishes like wood grain, metal, and stone, these films offer UV protection, scratch resistance, and thermoformability. They are used in transportation interiors, furniture, flooring, electronics, and interior design. Protechnic provides full in-house design and prototyping to turn creative concepts into high-quality, production-ready films.

Global Presence and Capabilities
Though proudly French, Protechnic serves customers worldwide, supported by a global distributor network, multilingual technical teams, and flexible manufacturing for both large and small batches. Committed to responsive service, Protechnic combines decades of experience with innovation and sustainability, partnering with clients to build the products of tomorrow.

Web adhesive

Web adhesive is a nonwoven, thermoplastic bonding material formed into a lightweight, fibrous structure resembling a fabric or mesh. It is designed to provide a uniform, breathable, and flexible adhesive layer between materials. When heated, the web melts and activates, creating a strong bond between substrates without the use of solvents or liquid glues.

Key Features:

  • Solvent-free and environmentally friendly
  • Excellent breathability, ideal for textiles and multilayer materials
  • Uniform adhesive distribution for consistent bonding performance
  • Flexible and soft, suitable for delicate or stretchable substrates
  • Customizable melting points and adhesion strengths

Applications:

  • Textiles & Apparel – Bonding technical fabrics, linings, and stretch garments
  • Automotive – Interior laminations, acoustic insulation layers
  • Footwear – Assembly of uppers, reinforcements, and linings
  • Medical – Joining of nonwoven materials in masks, gowns, and barrier fabrics
  • Filtration – Layer bonding in air and liquid filters
  • Furniture & Bedding – Foam-to-fabric lamination in seats, cushions, and panels

Adhesive webs are valued for their ease of use, clean processing, and compatibility with high-speed industrial lamination processes. They are available in different basis weights, widths, and thermoplastic chemistries (such as EVA, TPU, PA, PES) to suit various application requirements.

Film adhesive

Film adhesive is a solid, thermoplastic bonding film designed to create strong, uniform bonds between a wide range of materials. Unlike web or net adhesives, film adhesives are continuous, non-porous layers, offering precise thickness control, improved durability, and enhanced resistance properties. They activate upon heating, allowing clean, efficient bonding without the use of liquid adhesives or solvents.

Key Features:

  • Solvent-free: Clean and environmentally responsible bonding
  • Precise and uniform thickness: Ensures consistent adhesive performance
  • High bond strength: Excellent adhesion to textiles, foams, plastics, and composites
  • Thermal and chemical resistance: Ideal for demanding technical applications
  • Customizable formulations: Available with varied melting points, flexibility, and strength

Applications:

  • Automotive – Structural lamination, acoustic panels, seat and trim bonding
  • Textile & Apparel – Bonding of multilayer garments and technical fabrics
  • Footwear – Toe puff and counter bonding, upper lamination
  • Medical – Assembly of medical devices and barrier materials
  • Furniture & Bedding – Foam and fabric lamination for cushions, headboards, and panels
  • Consumer Electronics – Structural bonding and insulation layers

Film adhesives are well-suited to automated, high-speed production and can be easily die-cut or pre-shaped for specific applications. Protechnic offers film adhesives in various thermoplastic chemistries such as TPU, EVA, PES, and PA, designed to meet functional, aesthetic, and regulatory requirements.

Decorative film

Decorative films are specially engineered thin layers designed to enhance the aesthetic appeal and functional protection of various surfaces. These films combine visual design elements—such as color, texture, and pattern—with durable performance characteristics, making them ideal for applications in interior design, furniture, transportation, and consumer products.

Key Features:

  • Wide range of finishes: Including wood grain, stone, brushed metal, abstract patterns, and solid colors
  • Protective properties: UV resistance, scratch and chemical protection, anti-fingerprint coatings
  • Thermoformability: Films can be shaped or molded to complex 3D surfaces without losing their visual or protective qualities
  • Printability and customization: Supports logos, textures, and special visual effects to match brand identity and design requirements
  • Durability: Resistant to wear, fading, and environmental stresses, ensuring long-lasting beauty and function

Applications:

  • Transportation: Interior panels, dashboards, door trims, and flooring in cars, buses, trains, and aircraft
  • Interior Architecture: Wall coverings, ceiling panels, partitions, and decorative surfaces
  • Furniture: Laminated surfaces for cabinetry, tables, desks, and shelving units
  • Flooring: Decorative and protective layers integrated into vinyl and laminate floors
  • Consumer Electronics & Appliances: Surface finishes for devices, control panels, and household appliances

With in-house design and prototyping capabilities, Protechnic works closely with customers to transform creative concepts into production-ready decorative films that meet both aesthetic and technical demands. This ensures consistent quality and performance from initial idea to final product.
