F-REG

F-REG

#sewage #flooding #pollution #sewagenetwork #innovation #ecofriendly

ABOUT US :

F-Reg solutions are designed to combat flooding and waste discharge in cities caused by overflowing sewage systems during heavy rainfall. As a result of new waterproofing and climate change, wastewater and rainwater collection networks are now often undersized in historic areas. As a result, they tend to saturate and overflow with effluent during rainfall, causing urban flooding and, above all, frequent pollution that degrades the biodiversity of our natural environments. Every year in Europe, flooding’s causes million worth damage (13 Billion €/year in Europe) and our cities are dealing with important risks of pollutions caused by these flooding’s. The authorities are often trying to compensate these problems with large and expensive retention tanks. To counter these phenomena, F-Reg has patented a solution that turns our networks into regulating bodies by mobilizing water collection pipes for storage, thus smoothing the devastating peak flows generated by storms and preventing overflows. Today, F-Reg markets a range of solutions to meet the different needs of local authorities: stand-alone hydrodynamic valves, hydrodynamic regulating-controlled flow valves, tilting weirs, macro-waste traps and more. The company is involved in projects from A to Z: from the study to analyze project needs (eligibility, sizing, location) through its engineering and design department, to custom 3D design, material manufacturing and finally installation of the solutions. The solutions created by F-Reg not only save local authorities money, but also help them make a commitment to the environment. In fact, the valves designed by F-Reg’s teams are much less expensive to install than rainwater retention basins and require no land. Installation is therefore much simpler, quicker, more eco-friendly, and more sustainable. F-reg solutions also improve the carbon footprint compared with the installation of a retention basin.

The flovalv, a solution patented by F-Reg, uses sewer pipes as a storage area to regulate peak flows of stormwater and thus limit the damage caused by overflows. F-Reg solutions therefore represent an economic and environmental challenge for local authorities. Economical, because our solutions are much less costly than the creation of retention tanks and the purchase of land, and environmental, because they help reduce urban flooding and the discharge of waste into natural landscapes.

It is controlled by the water height at upstream which generates the necessary force on the pneumatic cylinders, afterwards generates the opening. The water pressure drives the valve and controls its flow, without electricity or supervision. Very economic and requires little maintenance.

When it rains, the garbage on the ground in our streets is often carried into our stormwater systems by runoff, and is therefore very likely to end up directly in our rivers, seas and oceans.

To further protect the environment, F-Reg has also developed solutions to combat the discharge of macro-waste into the natural environment. The macro-waste trap is a simple solution placed in the sewer system or in an outfall, and is equipped with a net to capture all the pollutants that can circulate in sewer systems (wipes, cigarette butts, plastics, etc.). Our traps incorporate hydraulic intelligence (overflow, for example) to prevent overloading in the event of net clogging.

F-Reg also intervenes upstream, before waste enters the sewer system, to limit the impact on the natural environment.

Our latest range of solutions consists of anti-waste baskets that can be placed directly in roadway drains to capture waste before it reaches the stormwater networks. These baskets, made of stainless steel or aluminum, are custom-designed to fit any type of downspout. They enable us to combat cigarette butts and plastics before they start to disintegrate in the networks, further polluting our environment. They are easy to clean thanks to their handles, and extremely durable.

NEW INNOVATION

APROMUD® G373: a major breakthrough in saline sludge conditioning

Industrial activities (construction, industrial processes, mining, contaminated sites and soils, ports, etc.) generate significant volumes of sludge containing high concentrations of salts, particularly sodium and calcium chlorides. The presence of these salts greatly complicates conditioning, handling, transportation, and storage operations, while increasing energy and logistical costs.

Conventional solutions—such as thermal coagulation, heavy lime or carbonate treatments, or standard drying agents binders—reach their limits in saline environments. They often require substantial overdosing, significantly increase the volume of material to be disposed of, and result in higher energy consumption and environmental impact.

APROMUD® G373, a patented innovation developed by APROTEK, overcomes this major technical barrier. Specifically formulated for saline environments, it enhances liquid absorption capacity by up to 200% or more in salt-laden matrices. It enables rapid solidification (approximately 15 minutes) of salty sludge at low dosage, making it immediately shovel-ready and easy to handle.

Its performance is independent of the type of salts present (NaCl, CaCl₂, KCl, MgCl₂, etc.). By improving particle cohesion, APROMUD® G373 reduces stockpile erosion during heavy rainfall, enhances loading safety, and optimizes logistics costs through reduced volume and lower energy consumption.

Neutral, non-corrosive, and inert in mineral matrices (biodegradable under specific conditions), it also improves operational efficiency by facilitating equipment and truck bed cleaning.

APROMUD® G373 positions itself as a benchmark technical solution for the efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable treatment of industrial salty sludge.

These evaporation processes provide solutions to a wide range of industrial issues, regardless of the sector, related to concentration, volume reduction, and effluent treatment.

Stripping (also known as distillation) enables the separation of a solvent. This technology is used to separate a solvent from volatile compound, and based on passing a gas (often air, steam, or an inert gas) through a liquid in order to transfer the volatile components of the liquid to the gas phase.
The most common application is the separation of ammonia or alcohol in order to improve condensate quality.
FE Process has developed and patented a ready-to-use solution which combines a stripping process together with mechanical vapor recompression (MVR) and a reboiler for the purpose of significantly optimizing vapor and electric consumption.

Thanks to our expertise in thermal design, our units are specifically designed to achieve market-leading energy performance, while minimizing steam consumption.
Our installations feature specific technology that recovers low-pressure and low-temperature energy. This recovered energy is then reused in the process at a much higher temperature (e.g. from 45°C to 180°C).
This ability to transform “lost” energy into a useful resource significantly reduces the need for live steam, and immediately lowers operating costs, thus optimizing overall energy efficiency.
This process provides more sustainable installations, better suited to current environmental and regulatory challenges.

The boiler of tomorrow: Achieving more efficient & sustainable production while significantly reducing operating costs & carbon footprint has been a major focus for FE Process for decades. We are eager to bring this expertise to industries across all sectors.
The key lies in energy processes optimization through Circular Electric Boilers (CEB): High-Temperature Heat Pumps (HTHP) combined with Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR), an in-house-developed technology that represents major progress in reducing energy consumption & CO₂ emissions in industrial thermal processes.
Said approach, fully in line with carbon neutrality objectives, reuses waste energy & reduces dependence on fossil fuels.
