OILSPY is a system developed in partnership with the Institut Français du Pétrole (IFP) to detect accidental pollution by floating hydrocarbons and chlorinated solvents. Its polymer membrane, in contact with the water surface, reacts in the presence of hydrocarbons. It dissolves and releases a piston that activates a contact relay. An alarm is triggered. The signal is sent by electric cable or radio to the supervisor.

NEREIDES has developed a valve, OILSTOP, with an automatic closing device adapted to water drainage systems to contain accidental hydrocarbon pollution. This obturator detects the pollution and stops the flow of water or any other fluid. An optional proximity sensor signals the closure of the valve to an alarm system.
