The Brand
Situated between Paris and Versailles, the prestigious Manufacture nationale de Sèvres is a renowned center of heritage and creation. This public institution, active since 1740, serves as a unique laboratory for developing new forms and colors, where excellence and expertise are passed down through generations of artisans.
The tradition of hosting both renowned and emerging guest artists has led to the creation of some of the most daring porcelain artworks. Talented artists, designers, and architects invited to Sèvres are captivated by the quality and subtlety of its porcelain, as well as its vast palette of colors. They draw inspiration from their ongoing dialogue with the Manufacture’s expert artisans.
At Manufacture nationale de Sèvres, porcelain—a noble and durable material—is crafted and showcased in various forms: sculptures, decorative objects, tableware, furniture, artworks, designer creations, and more. The porcelain-production workshops at Sèvres highlight contemporary creation and demonstrate a strong international openness.

A Sanctuary for Artistic Expression
Sèvres has always favoured artistic collaborations. In the 18th century, the precious-metal worker Jean-Claude Duplessis, the sculptor Etienne-Maurice Falconet and the painter François Boucher all contributed to setting Sèvres porcelain apart. Since then, hundreds of other painters, sculptors, ceramists, decorators, architects and designers of international renown have followed their footsteps, creating astonishing and precious artworks in the Manufacture workshops. In recent years, the Manufacture has thus collaborated with French and international artists and designers such as Lee Ufan, Annette Messager, Ronan Bouroullec, Claire Tabouret or Xavier Veilhan.
