Neuron Experts is a private Contract Research Organization (CRO) established in 2008, specializing in neuronal culture systems modeling neurodegenerative diseases. The company has developed a range of proprietary assays based on human and rat in vitro models reproducing key pathological features of Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Parkinson’s disease (PD), Huntington’s disease (HD), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), multiple system atrophy (MSA), multiple sclerosis (MS), and frontotemporal dementia (FTD). These models are used to evaluate compound efficacy and to investigate mechanisms of action.

Since 2025, Neuron Experts has collaborated with two French CROs—Motac, focused on in vivo studies, and Cynbiose, specialized in bioavailability and regulatory toxicology—within the INSPiRE consortium, with the objective of providing comprehensive preclinical development services for biotechnology companies.

In 2014, the company established a neurodermatology department dedicated to studying interactions between sensory neurons and the skin. It has developed human in vitro models to assess compound activity in dermatological and cosmetic applications. Notably, Neuron Experts has developed a reconstructed human epidermis model innervated with sensory neurons, enabling the evaluation of the effects of topically applied compounds on neuronal activity.
