Effective Therapeutic and Diagnostic Solutions for Treating Resistant and Metastatic Cancers

Oncodesign Precision Medicine (OPM), founded in 2022, is a biopharmaceutical company specializing in precision medicine, dedicated to discovering treatments for resistant and metastatic cancers.

OPM currently has two kinase inhibitors preparing for Phase 2 clinical development in patients: OPM-101, a RIPK2 inhibitor, has demonstrated a significant therapeutic margin and absence of toxicity in its Phase 1 healthy volunteer study. The compound is ready to start a Phase 1b/2a study in a few months, aiming to reverse resistance in advanced melanoma patients not responding or no longer responding to PD-1 checkpoint inhibitors. OPM’s RIPK2 inhibitors also hold significant potential in inflammatory diseases (IBD).

OPM-201, a LRRK2 inhibitor for Parkinson’s disease, completed its Phase 1 trial in healthy volunteers at the end of 2024. The compound is preparing for a Phase 1b/2 study in patients with LRRK2 genetic variants in Q1 2027. Ongoing CMC and toxicology work is fully funded by a grant award from The Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF), representing a major validation of the compound by MJFF experts. For both OPM-101 and OPM-201, the company is looking for partners and investors.

Both molecules come from OPM’s proprietary Nanocyclix® medicinal chemistry technology, which enables the design and selection of small, highly effective and selective macrocyclic kinase inhibitors. The platform is AI-assisted and consists of a highly annotated database and over 12,000 molecules. Multiple highly potent and selective inhibitor lead compounds are available for partnering.

OPM’s other two technology platforms are:
– OncoSNIPER, for the selection of therapeutic targets using artificial intelligence,
– PROMETHE® for the design and selection of radiolabeled theranostic molecules for systemic radiotherapy.
OPM, co-founded by Philippe Genne, Jan Hoflack and Karine Lignel, is based in Dijon, at the heart of the university and hospital cluster, and employs 14 people.

Bioprocess Optimization driven by Photonics and AI

InSpek is a biotools company redefining bioprocess manufacturing through real-time monitoring and artificial intelligence. Its bioprocess optimization platform doesn’t just analyse data — it collects it, thanks to proprietary photonic sensing technology developed at MIT and CNRS. On-chip optical sensors capture rich, multimodal process data at any scale, directly within bioreactors, without sampling and without contamination risk. This fuels AI and chemometric models that learn process dynamics, detect anomalies, and identify optimal operating conditions — enabling higher yields, lower costs, and faster scale-up.

At the core of InSpek’s platform is MultiSpek: a single disposable microchip integrating Raman spectroscopy, pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, and optical density sensing onto one photonic integrated circuit. Paired with a reusable control unit and intelligent software, the system delivers continuous, label-free, in-line analysis of critical process parameters — from metabolite concentrations to cell density — replacing slow, costly offline methods like HPLC. Designed for seamless integration into both single-use and stainless-steel bioreactors, MultiSpek supports upstream and downstream process intensification from early R&D through full-scale production.

This shift from batch-based sampling to fully continuous monitoring empowers pharmaceutical, biotech, and food-tech manufacturers to optimize yields, ensure consistent product quality, and accelerate process development — while reducing costs, resource consumption, and environmental impact. InSpek’s technology drives the transition toward smart, data-centric biomanufacturing in compliance with PAT frameworks, and Biomanufacturing 4.0.

First-in-class biotherapies for neurological diseases

Lys Therapeutics is a late preclinical-stage biotechnology company developing first-in-class monoclonal antibodies to treat patients suffering from severe neurodegenerative and neurovascular diseases with high unmet medical needs. The company targets upstream disease biology common to multiple major neurological indications, at the intersection of neurovascular dysfunction, neuroinflammation, and excitotoxicity.

Its lead candidate, LYS241, is a fully humanized monoclonal antibody with a unique mode of action that selectively blocks the pathological interaction between tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) and NMDAr, while preserving normal receptor function. By uncoupling this key neurovascular axis, LYS241 simultaneously restores blood-brain barrier integrity, reduces neuroinflammation, and protects both vascular and neuronal compartments.

With operations in Lyon and Caen (France) and strong collaborations with leading international academic institutions, Lys Therapeutics is advancing a pipeline-in-a-drug strategy centered on LYS241. The company is supported by prestigious partners including The Michael J. Fox Foundation, Bpifrance, and leading private investors.

By targeting a unifying neurovascular mechanism, Lys Therapeutics aims to develop disease-modifying therapies capable of transforming outcomes across a broad spectrum of neurological diseases.
