Effective Therapeutic and Diagnostic Solutions for Treating Resistant and Metastatic Cancers
Oncodesign Precision Medicine (OPM), founded in 2022, is a biopharmaceutical company specializing in precision medicine, dedicated to discovering treatments for resistant and metastatic cancers.
OPM currently has two kinase inhibitors preparing for Phase 2 clinical development in patients: OPM-101, a RIPK2 inhibitor, has demonstrated a significant therapeutic margin and absence of toxicity in its Phase 1 healthy volunteer study. The compound is ready to start a Phase 1b/2a study in a few months, aiming to reverse resistance in advanced melanoma patients not responding or no longer responding to PD-1 checkpoint inhibitors. OPM’s RIPK2 inhibitors also hold significant potential in inflammatory diseases (IBD).
OPM-201, a LRRK2 inhibitor for Parkinson’s disease, completed its Phase 1 trial in healthy volunteers at the end of 2024. The compound is preparing for a Phase 1b/2 study in patients with LRRK2 genetic variants in Q1 2027. Ongoing CMC and toxicology work is fully funded by a grant award from The Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF), representing a major validation of the compound by MJFF experts. For both OPM-101 and OPM-201, the company is looking for partners and investors.
Both molecules come from OPM’s proprietary Nanocyclix® medicinal chemistry technology, which enables the design and selection of small, highly effective and selective macrocyclic kinase inhibitors. The platform is AI-assisted and consists of a highly annotated database and over 12,000 molecules. Multiple highly potent and selective inhibitor lead compounds are available for partnering.
OPM’s other two technology platforms are:
– OncoSNIPER, for the selection of therapeutic targets using artificial intelligence,
– PROMETHE® for the design and selection of radiolabeled theranostic molecules for systemic radiotherapy.
OPM, co-founded by Philippe Genne, Jan Hoflack and Karine Lignel, is based in Dijon, at the heart of the university and hospital cluster, and employs 14 people.
