Created in 2015 in the French Alps, SYLFEN develops and manufactures the Smart Energy Hub, an energy storage system for all types of buildings and eco-districts: collective housing, office buildings, industrial sites, educational buildings, sports facilities… 
 
To store locally surplus of renewable energy production, the Smart Energy Hub uses AI software and a breakthrough technological innovation: a reversible electrolyzer using Solid Oxide Cells technology (rSOC), at a high and reusable temperature. It stores a large quantity of energy locally, thanks to hydrogen. This reversible process guarantees the return of electricity and heat to buildings at controlled costs. The implementation of this technology on a pilot plant in 2014 was a world performance record.  
 
This hybrid energy storage solution includes Sylfen’s own software suite: configuration tools with buildings expertise, an energy management software (EMS) with AI technology and a user-friendly App.
