We are a young French company, BELISAMA, specialized in the design of the BELISAFE fire-retardant gel to combat forest, hydrocarbon, urban, and industrial fires. Its relevance lies in its innovation: a solution that is 100% natural and biodegradable.

The rapid escalation of forest fires at both global and national levels is largely driven by human activity (approximately 90%), including negligence, deliberate acts, and accidents. In addition, climate change caused by increasing CO₂ emissions leads to rising temperatures, reduced soil and vegetation moisture, and a growing number of drought episodes. These conditions promote more frequent and more destructive fires, which in turn release CO₂ and further intensify global warming through a climate feedback loop.

The consequences are severe, with loss of human life, destroyed homes, major economic damage, long-lasting social disruption, as well as biodiversity loss and air pollution. By 2050, the frequency of large-scale fires is expected to increase significantly.

The chemical products currently in use are not environmentally neutral for wildlife, vegetation, ecosystems, or first responders, and their effectiveness remains limited. Furthermore, conventional fire retardants require very high concentrations (18% to 20%), whereas BELISAFE is effective at concentrations ranging from 0.5% to 5%, significantly reducing logistical constraints and operational costs.

The innovative formula of our BELISAFE fire-retardant gel, developed from natural ingredients, is supplied in powder form to be mixed with water.

It can be deployed through multiple modes of action: direct or indirect attack, the creation of non-flammable protective barriers, as well as the suppression of specific types of fires (forests, infrastructure, hydrocarbons). Its endothermic properties enable long-lasting adhesion to surfaces, limit evaporation, significantly reduce water consumption, and provide extended protection lasting several hours.

Numerous laboratory tests and real-world trials (conducted in France and Sardinia, including publicly demonstrated operations) have shown performance clearly superior to conventional extinguishing agents: enhanced thermal resistance, extended reignition times, drastic reduction of runoff, and preservation of treated surfaces.

Every effort has been made to ensure compatibility of these new products with existing firefighting equipment while delivering added operational value. They are available to public authorities, local governments, emergency services, and economic stakeholders.

Decarbonization

For over 35 years, APRO Industrie has been a key player in the design, manufacturing, installation, and maintenance of bolted steel tanks, delivering turnkey solutions for firefighting water storage.
