FRENCH RAIL TECHNOLOGIES AT INNOTRANS 2026
The French Pavilion at InnoTrans 2026 showcases a broad spectrum of railway technologies supporting the evolution of rail transport systems.
Based on the solutions presented by participating companies, several major technological domains emerge across the French delegation, reflecting current priorities in railway operations, infrastructure, maintenance, passenger services and sustainable mobility.
The following overview highlights the main technology areas represented on the French Pavilion and illustrates the diversity of expertise available to international railway stakeholders.
1. Digital Rail and Data-Driven Operations
Digital technologies are increasingly integrated into railway systems to improve operational performance, infrastructure monitoring and maintenance planning.
The French Pavilion includes companies developing digital twins, supervision software, mobility-data platforms, predictive-maintenance solutions, autonomous decision-making systems and operational analytics tools.
These technologies help railway stakeholders collect, analyse and use data to support infrastructure management, fleet operations and passenger services.
Examples include solutions presented by Altametris, CODRA Ingénierie Informatique, Flowly, RAILwAI, RAILCAP and Wiremind.
2. Signalling, Control Systems and Railway Safety
Safety-critical systems remain a cornerstone of modern railway operations.
Several French exhibitors specialise in signalling, formal verification, ERTMS, ETCS, CBTC, interlocking systems and control-command engineering.
Their technologies support the design, validation, testing and operation of safe railway networks.
Examples include CLEARSY, IKOS, Prover Technology and Systerel.
3. Smart Maintenance and Asset Performance
Railway operators increasingly seek technologies that extend asset life and improve network availability.
The French Pavilion presents solutions ranging from predictive maintenance and digital inspection systems to refurbishment, repair and overhaul services.
The technologies represented cover infrastructure inspection, rolling-stock maintenance, optical measurement, machinery monitoring and depot operations.
Exhibitors active in these domains include ACC M, Alphitan Group, Altametris, GILLET GROUP, NEU Railways, R&D Vision, RAILwAI, RM System, SCULFORT and SOCOFER.
4. Advanced Rolling Stock Components and Industrial Manufacturing
A significant part of the French offer focuses on components and industrial technologies used in rolling stock manufacturing and refurbishment.
These capabilities include mechanical systems, onboard electronics, thermal management, cabling, connectors, composite materials, elastomer technologies, safety equipment and interior components.
The diversity of solutions highlights the strength of the French industrial supply chain serving passenger, freight and urban rail systems.
Examples can be found among the solutions developed by ADES Technologies, AMCO, ATHERM, Clayens, ESARIS Industries, PROCONECT, Stratiforme Industries and many other specialised manufacturers.
5. Electrification and Railway Energy Systems
Electrical and energy technologies are present throughout the Pavilion.
The French exhibitors present solutions covering power distribution, electrical measurements, protection systems, onboard equipment, medium-voltage transformers and railway connectivity.
These technologies contribute to reliable and safe railway operations.
Examples include ACOME Group, ESARIS Industries, PROCONECT, Rwaytech, SADTEM, Systèmes et Connectique du Mans and TECHNO-ELEC.
6. Passenger Information and Mobility Experience
Passenger expectations continue to drive innovation throughout public transport networks.
The Pavilion features technologies covering public-address systems, positioning, navigation, passenger information, accessibility, digital services and transport operations.
These solutions help operators improve passenger journeys while enhancing network attractiveness and operational efficiency.
Examples include Ateïs France, Flowly, SBG Systems, Viveris, Wemap and Wiremind.
7. Sustainable Mobility and Circular Rail Solutions
The information provided by exhibitors highlights numerous initiatives supporting sustainability.
The technologies and services represented include rolling-stock refurbishment, lifecycle extension, material recovery, energy efficiency, lightweight transportation solutions and environmentally responsible manufacturing processes.
The Pavilion also showcases expertise supporting modal shift towards rail and the development of more sustainable mobility systems.
Examples include ACC M, DI Environnement, Lohr Industrie, RAILCAP and Stratiforme Industries.
The French Rail Ecosystem at a Glance
France is home to a large and diverse railway industry bringing together manufacturers, engineering firms, technology providers, infrastructure specialists, operators and service companies.
According to the information highlighted in the French Pavilion press materials, the sector comprises more than 2,000 companies, around 90% of which are small and medium-sized enterprises. The industry employs more than 200,000 people and generates annual revenues of approximately €35 billion, with around one-third of revenues linked to export activities.
The French rail network covers approximately 28,000 kilometres, including around 2,700 kilometres of high-speed lines.
In July 2026, public authorities, regions, operators and manufacturers signed a national action plan aimed at strengthening the competitiveness and industrial performance of the French rail sector, in a context of growing regional and intercity rail traffic.
The companies exhibiting on the French Pavilion at InnoTrans 2026 illustrate the diversity of this industrial ecosystem, from infrastructure and signalling to digitalisation, artificial intelligence, maintenance, rolling stock and sustainable mobility.
