DES RÊVES

BACK TO COLLECTION

COMPANY PROFILE

The Des Rêves earthenware team is at your service for designing and crafting your Desvres earthenware projects. From design to delivery, they collaborate with architects, hotels, restaurant owners, chefs, and public institutions to bring their visions to life.

Their factory has the capability to create each piece individually, allowing for customization in terms of shape, model, motif, and quantity. Des Rêves products are meticulously handcrafted in the Desvres workshop, following time-honored traditions. All manufacturing stages take place in-house, utilizing the plaster mold casting method.

The earthenware casting paste is sourced from France and prepared on-site. Skilled teams shape and fire the pieces right in the workshop. The final touch—a hand-applied decoration using a transfer technique—occurs just before the third and last firing.

With a rich history and expertise dating back to the 18th century, the earthenware industry in Desvres, located in Pas-de-Calais, France flourished and employed thousands of people locally. However, as we entered the 21st century, large-scale production gradually declined, and the transfer of knowledge became less frequent. Des Rêves represents a desire—to reindustrialize—achieved through the establishment of a new production site. This project is a tribute to the tradition and history of a prosperous and proud period of Desvres, during which its manufacturers gained international acclaim. Moreover, this project symbolizes a fresh opportunity, a renewed energy, and the revival of earthenware, firmly rooted in contemporary times and modern sensibilities.
