IFPEN works with major players of the wind sector to foster the industrial application of its developments. In 2023, IFPEN launched GreenWITS, a new company delivering advanced digital and engineering services for wind energy.

FARMSHADOW™ is a fast and accurate wind, farm flow simulator which features analytical velocity deficit, wake added turbulence, blockage effect and advanced superposition models. It is coupled with optimization routines to derive wind turbine and electrical layouts of wind farms accounting for complex zoning and alignment constraints.

FAME JIP aims at developing methodologies for floating wind AEP calculation considering the wake loss impact at both wind turbine and wind farm levels. This includes the evaluation of floater motion impact on WT power production and the improvement of wake model analysis thanks to experimentation in wind tunnel.

Wind AVATAR JIP aims at applying new methodologies to help FOW operators and OEMs to improve the O&M of their assets. The JIP focuses on the development of Digital Twin technology applied to FOWTs to enrich available data coming from the assets with physical modeling to enable the generation of KPIs of interest, as well as virtual sensors.
