The Agency offers comprehensive support to companies through all stages of development, including: investment, innovation, training and employment, exports, access to funding, and European programs. It also promotes Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes internationally, showcasing its assets to attract new businesses to the region. Since its inception in 2017, with a team of 170 professionals, the Agency leverages its expertise in corporate advisory, business development, and finance to assist both national and international businesses with their expansion plans.

In 2023, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Entreprises supported over 10,000 industrial projects, facilitating more than 10 billion euros in investments and securing over 150 million euros from national and European funding sources.

Situated in the stunning French Alps, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes is France’s leading industrial region.
It boasts a dynamic industrial fabric and a strong research and development background across various sectors, providing over 505,000 jobs and spending annually 7.5 billion euros on R&D.

With a GDP of 269 billion euros, the region ranks fourth among the European Union’s regions. Auvergne Rhône Alpes Entreprises is here to sustain this momentum, working in alliance with its sister regions Baden-Württemberg, Catalonia, and Lombardy in the network of the Four Motors for EuropeIn 2010, the Four Motors for Europe have launched the working group “Electric and Hydrogen Mobility” to share information and experience, develop joint positions and policy recommendations and to implement cross-border activities on future mobility solutions. The working group brings together experts from the regional automotive and mobility cluster networks in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (CARA), Baden-Württemberg (e-mobil BW), Catalonia (ACCIÓ) and Lombardy (Lombardy Mobility Cluster) as well as the associated regions of Flanders and Wales. It creates an important platform for the affiliated clusters and networks, permitting a targeted communication of needs for action, project activities and strategies at the European level.

Member of Team France Export and the European Enterprise Network, the Agency supports Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes industrials in their global expansion by helping them find new markets, technical and commercial partners, and build their international teams.

The Invest Team aids international companies in setting up or relocating to the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. With free, confidential services in finance, human resources, and real estate, tailor-made support is provided to each project, facilitating business integration and fostering local partnerships.

The Agency supports companies in accessing European funds and programs, forming consortia, and preparing applications for such programs as Horizon Europe, EIC Accelerator, Eurostars, or Cascade funding.  The applicants are provided with guidance through each step, maximizing their chances for successful projects.

NOVACIUM

NOVACIUM
Hall 9 – 9-B20

#Li-ionBatteries #AdvancedSiliconBasedAnode

about us :

NOVACIUM is a R&D company funded by 3 Ph.D engineers expert in material sciences.

NOVACIUM was created in july 2022 and is based in Solaize (Lyon). The value proposition of the “Battery” project lies in an innovative approach to develop a ready to use additive which improve the performance of lithium batteries. The most promising ways of improvements is to incorporate silicon-based material into the anode. Silicon and derivates have been the core business of the Novacium team for more than 20 years, and we have mastered the entire value chain, from its manufacture and purification to the various processes involved.

This value proposition is further strengthened by a portfolio of patents relating to highly innovative surface treatments for the anode materials used in batteries, which Novacium acquired when it was founded in 2022. The combination of these 2 areas of expertise will enable Novacium to develop innovative technologies for improving anode materials, which will ultimately lead to a significant increase in the performance of lithium batteries.

NOVACIUM has identified the SiOx as the better component in terms of cost and performances. SiOx enhance the anode capacity while having a good cyclability.
To innovate at all stages of the manufacture of Silicon-based anode materials, NOVACIUM owns a patent portfolio of 5 patent families.

Novacium’s custom-engineered silicon material blend, has already obtain  > 14% performance improvement over 125 cycles on 18650 cells compared to 100% graphite batteries.

This is one of the best published Li-ion battery capacity and the quality of second generation of Novacium Si based material will allow to increase the ratio of our advance Si material blend.

Novacium has partnership with equipment manufacturer to fabricate at an industrial scale an advanced Si based material.

All equipments are at industrial scale with a baseline process ready to use.

In a second step, Novacium will implement his patented innovation (optimized oxidation, surface treatment, …). The objectives is to produce an custom-engineered silicon material blend at industrial scale.

Novacium is developing an advanced coating process to improve battery cycling so to introduce more Si in the based anode material. A proof of concept on coin cell has already been done (a few grams), the degradation after 100 cycles is much lower one coin cell. The SEI Solid Electrolyte Interface is particulary stable and adapted to Si based anode. The conductivity of the Si based anode has also been improved.

OUR ECO-RESPONSIBLE ENGAGEMENTS :

By optimizing capacity and cycling, Novacium will reduce his environmental impact. In 2024, Novacium is still a R&D company. The label will come soon.
