OCEA OVER 30-YEAR EXPERIENCE IN BUILDING SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH VESSELS

This experience result in delivery of high added value vessels with operational capabilities allowing collection of data and samples of excellent quality at higher speed than usual scientific vessels due to the excellent sea keeping of the Scientific Research Vessel platform and very reduced noise.

OCEA vessels are built entirely of aluminum and have demonstrated their lifespan, in excess of 25 years:

  • L’Esturial in 1993 – INRAE
  • L’Europe 1993 – IFREMER
  • L’Antea 1995 – IFREMER

ALUMINIUM : AN IDEAL MATERIAL FOR SHIPBUILDING

The design of the OCEA SRV range capitalises on and enhances the natural qualities of aluminium in order to propose competitive solutions with low impact on the environment in which it operates (noise, vibration, electric, magnetic and pollution). Compare to equivalent boat in steel:

  • 15% savings in the cost of acquisition
  • 30% lighter
  • 30% savings in fuel consumption
  • 30% savings in CO2 emissions
  • 25% reduction in engine maintenance costs
  • 100% recyclable material

PROVEN RESULTS

Over the years, OCEA has demonstrated it’s know-how in the design and construction of Scientific Research Vessels for various organizations worldwide providing support to the customer from the design to the technical assistance.

IHO special order:  El Masseh 30 meters hydrographic vessel has been awarded for the quality of data acquired

Exceptional operational capacity

The SRV 190 has demonstrated its exceptional operational capacity, in particular through its ability to carry out hydrographic data collection at sea 3-4 and up to 14 knots thanks to “the excellent sea keeping of the platform as well as the very reduced noise” (SHOM testimony)
