Founded in 1937, Mithieux Metal Protect remains a family business with a strong commitment to innovation. Since 2011, the company has been eligible for the Research Tax Credit.
Their clientele mainly consists of Tier 1 and Tier 2 automotive suppliers with international operations. With a production site located in Chambéry, France, Mithieux Metal Protect joined the first national Automotive Accelerator developed by BPI France in 2019. Today, the company is recognized as one of the national leaders in its field and holds IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 certifications.

Mithieux Metal Protect offers high-performance anti-corrosion and functional coatings for metallic mechanical components, aimed at extending the lifespan of vehicles and equipment while enhancing user safety. The objectives of the E-Volution 2 project are closely tied to the development of electric vehicles (EVs), including battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs).
The functional requirements for coatings on metallic mechanical parts are evolving, necessitating a combination of anti-corrosion properties with optimal electrical conductivity and weldability. Developing a new generation of coatings that can meet these diverse challenges is strategic for the entire automotive industry, particularly for the vehicles of the future. This project has enabled Mithieux Metal Protect to develop and industrialize a tin-zinc alloy coating, establishing a high-capacity production line to meet the demands of the European automotive industry.
