VOLTALIS

COMPANY PROFILE

Voltalis is the European leader of widespread Demand Response, boasting more than 1,200,000 connected appliances across 200,000 residential and commercial buildings, offering significant energy savings for its users. Since 2006, Voltalis has been offering innovative flexibility services across all European electricity markets and beyond.

The firm has been stepping up its activities to address the consumer electrification of usages such as heat-pumps, electric vehicle charging, energy storage and self-consumption. In February 2024, Voltalis announced a partnership with Samsung to capitalize on the flexibility potential of Samsung appliances to help power grid balancing.

DISCOVER THEIR SOLUTIONS

Voltalis is the first company to have unlocked this potential at scale. Its mission is to utilize technology to facilitate the energy transition, addressing the pressing challenges of climate change, energy efficiency, and the security of electricity supply.  With the backing of its shareholder Meridiam, a B Corp investment and asset management firm, Voltalis has set an ambitious goal to equip an additional 3 million households and businesses by 2030.

Voltalis has developed a unique technology covering all aspects of Demand Response, including smart devices for buildings, dedicated Home Energy Management Systems for households and businesses, and a central control room connected to power markets.

Currently, the technology is embedded in a new generation connected thermostat, that enables households and businesses to:

  • Make energy savings of up to 15%
  • Reduce their carbon emissions by up to 70%
  • Contribute to the security of electricity grids

The connected thermostat is completely free-of-charge for end-users.

Users can access the mobile app as well as a web app called MyVoltalis to monitor their consumption and control their heaters remotely, by setting a temperature for each room and programming their operation according to their habits. In addition, they can track their electricity consumption by appliance category (heating, hot water, cooling, multimedia, etc.). Users also benefit from alerts and advice on how to spend less and reduce their carbon footprint.

In the event of an imbalance, Voltalis can temporarily reduce the consumption of these appliances, with no impact on users’ comfort.
