“What do you know about truffles?” a father-in-law asked his son-in-law in November 2011. “It’s a mushroom!” the son in law replied. From here Truffe Extra France was born! 

Founded by a father & son-in-law, Guillaume Gé and Mathieu Trellu, the company has since grown and 5 years later another family member joined the fold: Guillaume’s brother David. Today, the team is made up of 8 people who oversee business development, logistics, and, of course, agriculture.  

11 years since that simple question, the company now provides truffles to the best chefs in the world, from Paris to Hong Kong, and is globally recognised as a leading producer in Aquitaine Region (the best place for black truffle production). 

Specialists in fresh black truffles from Aquitaine, France, Truffe Extra provides the greatest names of French gastronomy and world’s finest food shops with its produce. 

In recognition of the superior quality of their produce, the company was chosen to represent French truffle production at the Michelin Star Awards in Paris in 2019. With 35 hectares of truffle trees of its own, and over 120 hectares more that it manages, TRUFFE EXTRA FRANCE and ALENA’s reputation for Perigord black truffles proceeds it, with only truffle sellers considered as competitors.
