Maison Plantin

Maison Plantin

Since 1930, Plantin has called Provence, one of the largest truffle-producing regions, home. Since then, they have striven to spread the word about truffles through excellent gourmet products.

The team select the finest truffle fields, where truffle hunters set to work. Once harvested, the truffles are passed to the Plantin truffle masters, whose know-how has been handed down though the generations. Their job is to perfect the truffles: delicately brushing them and meticulously sorting them according to size, shape and aroma. Only the very finest truffles, including so-called “black diamonds”, are retained, and sent to the kitchens of some of the world’s best-known chefs.

The team at Plantin is made up of around 65 people, and, in the vast majority, of women (80%), all linked by a passion for good food! We have a wealth of experience in the team, for example Eric, the truffle master, has worked at Plantin selecting truffles for over 35 years, and for the past 3 years he’s been training his replacement to prepare Plantin for the future.

Every year, Plantin distributes almost 100 tonnes of fresh truffles and dried mushrooms, including the delicious morel mushrooms.

Plantin want truffle products to be enjoyed by both professional and amateur cooks, and consistently work to develop new products and recipes which elevate dishes to the next level.
