The I2 variant employs solid iodine propellant, which is pre-filled and remains non-pressurized during launch, eliminating sloshing issues. CEDRAT TECHNOLOGIES (CTEC) is a SME specialized in the design, qualification and manufacturing of flight mechatronics and mechanisms for Space, Defence & Optics Instruments. These mechanisms find their applications for space science missions, ranging from either low earth altitude (LEO & MEO) or geostationary satellites (GEO), to far distance space exploration. CTEC takes benefit from its own proprietary space qualified technologies, in the field of magnetic & piezoelectric actuators, sensors & electronics, to provide reliable and high-performance mechatronic solutions for static & dynamic control of structure, optic & fluid.

CTEC XY piezo stages, Fast Steering Mirrors (FSM) and associated controllers are widely used in space, electro-optic systems and scientific instrumentations. Most of their solutions are customized products developed under client technical specifications. These stages and FSM are embedded in Space Satellites or ground stations (optical communication, optical fibre positioning, and imaging), Electro Optic surveillance systems (infrared & visible cameras, FLIR, POD) or scientific instrumentations (Synchrotrons, Telescopes, Microscopes).

More than 25 years ago, CTEC developed the first Amplified Piezo Actuator (APA®) compliant with the space environment for CNES (French Space Agency). Over the years, CTEC has designed and produced more complex space mechanisms for space missions such as the XYZ stage for ROSETTA (1999) for ESA and a Beam Steering Mirror DTT35XS for an interferometer application in PHARAO (2003) for AIRBUS. Their last great achievement is the Point Ahead Mechanism PAM30 for the PSYCHE DSOC optical link (NASA) developed and successfully tested in flight end of 2023.
