DISCOVER THEIR SOLUTIONS
Their optics lineage started in 1901 as a precision optics machine manufacturer called the Machines Charlot company. In 1958, the Silvestre family acquired Machines Charlot, and the company began designing, developing, and manufacturing machines to precision optics and high-tech customers.
Aside from U.S. Headquarters, European activities are grouped in three sites. The U.S. SOMOS-Group operates globally on an area of 12,500m², uniting over 150 experts. Their proficiency in surface treatment allows them to tailor solutions to diverse customer needs. They have a strong expertise in luxury watchmaking, defense, aerospace, medical, all areas that require critical finishes. Leveraging years of experience, they’ve developed machines capable of achieving λ/10 precision on various glass types. These machines come in different dimensions, designed for different parts size, starting with trays of <200mm up to 2.5 meters.
Additionally, their wire saw complements the polishing machine, delivering high-precision cuts that strike a balance between speed and surface quality. From single wire to multiwire saw, there is also a large choice of machine dimensions for different parts size. They deal with precision optics and can proceed with different material like silicon Carbide, semiconductor, crystals, ceramics, sapphire, many type of electronics component.
