Julien Pouget, Président MENA, Exploration & Production, TotalEnergies
Mr. Julien Pouget has been appointed as head of Middle East North Africa region for TotalEnergies Exploration & Production on September 1st, 2023. Before that move, he held the position of Senior Vice President Asia Pacific for Exploration & Production and Renewables, where he oversaw the oil & gas assets of the Company as well as the development of renewables in the region.
He had previously served as Senior Vice President of the global Renewables division of TotalEnergies from 2017 to 2021, and CEO of TotalEnergies Renewables. Since 2016, the renewables asset base of TotalEnergies has grown from 300 MW to close to 23 GW in operation, with more than 6 GW of projects under construction globally, and a portfolio of more than 40 GW of renewable projects under development. Julien Pouget also served at the Board of directors of SunPower, a Nasdaq listed Californian company.
From 2014 to 2016, he served as a senior advisor to the President of the Republic of France, initially responsible for Industry and Digital matters, and finally for Economy. His responsibilities during this time included the oversight of the restructuring of the French nuclear industry.
Prior to his service to the President of France, Mr. Pouget spent six years in various positions at Alstom, including as Vice President of the heat exchangers global product line, as Vice President and General Manager of Asian nuclear activities based in China, and as project director for the Flamanville 3 EPR nuclear plant in France.
From 2001 to 2008, Mr. Pouget held various positions in the French Ministry of Industry, and at the State Shareholding Agency at the Ministry for Finance and Economy.
Mr. Pouget is a chief engineer of the Corps des Mines and a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique.
