Domaine de la Cabasse (837-2)

The name Cabasse comes from the Italian phrase “Casa Bassa” , meaning“the house under the village”. Located at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail, the vines benefit from an exceptional terroir. In January 2012, the domain was acquired by the Baudry family, whose ancestors were producing wine in Loire Valley (Nantes, Muscadet). The domain previously held 15 hectares with an annual production of 60,000 bottles: 5 hectares in the Côtes du Rhône Villages Sablet, 7 hectares in the Côtes du Rhône Villages Séguret, 3 hectares in the Gigondas. This year, the Domaine de Cabasse has acquired a new estate in the Séguret appellation, historically Domaine de Pialon. The acquisition brings the surface area under production to 30 hectares, 20 hectares of which are in the Séguret appellation.
