The origin of UVAL (« Union des Vignerons Associés du Levant », a winegrowers’ cooperative) dates back to 1975. UVAL founded in La Marana Cellar, in the Northeast part of Corsica, by  astia and the Cap Corse. Since then, the group has continued to innovate with a research program into new niche areas of both wine and vines.  In the 80’s, as a pioneer, UVAL introduced the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay varietals in Corsica… the exceptional potential of the Corsican “terroir”. Nowadays, the development and the acknowledgement of the Corsican varietals such as Niellucciu, Sciaccarellu, Vermentinu is driving high profits for this region.
