Hydrogen Opportunities in North America and France

USA

In 2021 President Biden signed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that gave a clear strategy to develop the US Hydrogen Industry. The US have recently intensified their strong financial suppports to the H2 Industry with the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), funding approximately $369 billion in new renewable and green energy projects across the country, including massive incentives for clean hydrogen.


Canada

An investment tax credit will be available, starting in 2023 until the end of 2034, providing a refund equal to 0% of the capital costs for investments in clean technologies including clean Hydrogen.

France

The French Government plans to invest EUR 9 billion by 2030 to promote decarbonized hydrogen projects, of which EUR 2 billion has already been allocated. In 2022, 468 stakeholders including 73 large multinationals, 215 SMEs and 70 regional territories worked on 178 hydrogen projects. France is home to 15+ Important Projects of Common European Interest (IPCEI). France plans to become a global clean hydrogen leader by 2030, aiming to produce 1,000,000 tons annually powering industrial and mobility uses.
