More than 2,500 exporters and nearly 180 French investors are already doing business in Egypt…Why not you?
After several difficult economic years, partly linked to the international economic situation, during which Egypt nevertheless demonstrated a resilience unequalled in the region, a new wind is blowing over the country at the start of 2024. A number of donors have pledged their support for the Egyptian authorities’ clear commitment to reform, in the form of ambitious funding to consolidate current developments. This is the case, for example, with the IMF, which has increased the amount of its program from USD 3 to 8 billion, and the European Union, which agreed in principle to provide financial support of EUR 7.4 billion shortly after the announcement of a UAE investment project worth an unprecedented USD 35 billion in Ras El Hekma on the country’s northern coast.
In a troubled regional environment, this reaffirmed confidence in Egypt by international backers confirms the country’s central role, not only geographically, but also in terms of its wealth of talent and resources. The particularly close ties between France and Egypt, whose French-speaking population far exceeds that of neighbouring Lebanon, are a further advantage for any company wishing to take an interest in Egypt or consolidate its presence there.
As the strong ties between our two countries have also been forged by the Mediterranean, a Forum on Egypt will also be organized for the first time in Marseille on October 1, following on from the event in Paris on September 30.
We invite you to discover this new Egypt, through the testimonies of public officials, Egyptian buyers and French companies with a long-standing presence in Egypt, who have come together to share their experience and offer advice in a wide range of sectors and fields. Both events will feature plenary sessions, sector-specific roundtables and B-to-B meetings.
