about us :

Epsilon Composite Cable is a pioneer and world leader in high performance composite materials thanks to the pultrusion process. This highly efficient technology, combined with the extraordinary properties of carbon fibers makes the perfect solution to manufacture strong durable cores for High Temperature Low Sag (HTLS) conductors. This new generation of aerial smart conductors is successfully being used worldwide to increase ampacity, reduce sag and electrical losses.

In addition to its R&D center and pultrusion facilities in France, Epsilon Composite Cable relies on technical support teams in America, Asia, and Europe, as well as other stranding partners all around the world. We are today at the forefront of grid modernization effort, with a proven track record of several thousands of kilometers of power lines installed worldwide in the past decades.

HVCRC® technology

High Voltage Composite Reinforced Conductors are a range of HTLS conductors made up of a carbon-glass epoxy composite core and trapezoidal 1350-O annealed aluminium strands. Compared with traditional ACSR conductor, HVCRC® conductors allow to double the ampacity of a line or to decrease its losses by up to 30% while reducing sag.

Smart conductors

To fulfill future asset management practices, new technologies are already under development, such as embedded optical fibre systems. By monitoring temperature and sag parameters, a live assessment of the electricity rating of the line can be performed to optimize energy transport across the grid.
