MOROESI MOKHABI, CEO – BRANE AFRIKA
Moroesi, a South African entrepreneur, divides her time between Johannesburg and Toulouse. After earning her Master of Commerce (Finance) from the University of the Witwatersrand, she co-founded Brane Afrika in late 2018, a strategic advisory and research firm. Brane Afrika supports South African and French companies looking to invest or expand in South Africa and the SADC region. Headquartered in Johannesburg, Brane Afrika was incubated at Station F, Paris, through the Insead Launch Pad in 2020.
In 2024, Moroesi co-founded Brane Tech in Toulouse, with support from Business France, the Occitanie Region, and Invest in Toulouse.
Her work is driven by the belief that sustainable solutions to development challenges emerge when citizens actively shape their environment. Through Brane Afrika, she seeks to foster inclusion and accessibility for underserved markets.
Before founding Brane Afrika, Moroesi gained experience in the insurance and risk management industries, working at Marsh and later Nedbank. Her academic and professional background has given her a deep understanding of the SADC region’s insurance and banking landscape, with work spanning Zimbabwe, Malawi, Lesotho, Swaziland, Namibia, and Mozambique.
